The “Green Tech Challenge” startup competition was organized at Mingachevir State University for students and young innovators. The competition was held with the aim of promoting innovative ideas focused on environmental protection, reducing the impacts of climate change, and ensuring the efficient use of natural resources.

The main objective of the event was to increase young people’s awareness of environmental issues, encourage them to develop technology-based innovative solutions, and contribute to the development of startup culture and entrepreneurial thinking within the university environment. The projects presented by participating teams mainly covered the following areas: environmental protection and ecological monitoring technologies, solutions for reducing and recycling plastic and other waste, renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, innovative ideas for water resource management and water purification, digital solutions aligned with smart city and green infrastructure concepts, as well as mobile applications and digital platforms designed to address environmental challenges.

During the competition, participants worked in teams to develop their startup ideas and presented their projects to the jury in the form of presentations. The projects were evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, technological feasibility, environmental impact, applicability, and social benefit.

As part of the event, participants also gained valuable experience through the guidance and recommendations of mentors and experts, which helped them further develop their projects.
