Mingachevir State University Hosts the XXI Student Scientific Conference Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the First Turkology Congress

On April 21, 2026, Mingachevir State University hosted the “XXI Student Scientific Conference Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the First Turkology Congress,” organized by the Student Scientific Society. The conference, held at the university’s Heydar Aliyev Center, officially commenced at 3:00 PM.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy Aygun Gadirova delivered an introductory speech highlighting the scientific and historical significance of the First Turkology Congress, emphasizing its important role in the development of linguistics and humanitarian sciences across the Turkic world.

Within the framework of the conference, students delivered scientific presentations on various актуal topics. Among the presenters, MSU student Fatima Hasanova presented on “The Phenomenon of Bekir Chobanzade in Azerbaijani Linguistics,” while Nurlana Mirabova spoke on “The First Turkology Congress – 100 Years: Common Scientific Heritage and Modern Challenges.” Nuray Mehdizade delivered a presentation titled “The Beginning of a New Stage in Azerbaijani Literature: The 1926 First Turkology Congress.”

In addition, Gulbahar Hasanova and Zeynab Mehrelizada jointly presented “The Role of the Turkology Congress in Education Policy: Historical and Pedagogical Analysis.” Aysu Hashimova discussed “The Impact of Screen Addiction on Preschool Children,” while Aysu Jabrailova presented “Solving Economic Problems through the Application of Derivatives.”

Furthermore, Malak Nabizada delivered a presentation on “The Fundamental Principles of Set Theory,” Ramal Mahmudov spoke on “Social Bridge,” and Aynur Karimova presented “Phonetic Differences Between English and Azerbaijani (with Reference to Other Turkic Languages).” Gulchin Aliyeva concluded the presentations with the topic “The Mutual Influence of Turkology and the French Language: Lexical Assimilation and Modern Linguistic Approaches.” The presentations attracted great interest from the participants.

The conference played a significant role in increasing students’ interest in scientific research activities and in developing their analytical and creative skills.
