On June 28, the opening ceremony of the Cybersecurity Laboratory was held at Mingachevir State University (MSU).

The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Emin Əmrullayev, the Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Authority, İlham İsmayılov, the Rector of MSU, Şahin Bayramov, and other guests.

Participants were introduced to the facilities and infrastructure established within the laboratory.

It was noted that the laboratory was created within the framework of the project titled “Enhancement of Teaching in Cybersecurity-related Subjects at Mingachevir State University,” implemented with a grant from the Ministry of Education. The project, carried out between January and June of the current year, aims to strengthen MSU’s capacity in information technology education, establish a modern cybersecurity education model, and enhance awareness of cybersecurity among students, faculty, alumni, and partners.

The laboratory will enable the training of highly qualified specialists and engineers in cybersecurity and information technologies, serving as a platform to improve the quality of education.

It was also highlighted that professors from Gazi University, Ercan Nurcan Yılmaz and Cemal Yılmaz, who were engaged at MSU, played an active role in the establishment of the laboratory.

The laboratory is equipped with 22 computers installed with specialized cybersecurity software. It will be used for teaching selected courses in information technology, information security, and computer engineering, as well as for conducting research in these fields.

It should be noted that, as part of its ongoing modernization efforts, MSU continues to prioritize the development of laboratories and essential infrastructure aimed at improving the quality of education and enhancing research capabilities.
