A documentary dedicated to the memory of martyr Intigam Ismayilov was presented at Mingachevir State University. The event was attended by the martyr’s family members, staff of EL Television Company, the university’s academic personnel, and students.

The event began with a one-minute silence in memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the National Anthem.

“Their Heroism Is Never Forgotten”

The moderator of the event, EL TV presenter Zamiq Hajiyev, spoke about the heroic path of martyr Intigam Ismayilov. He noted that “today, the youth of independent Azerbaijan follow the path of heroes like Intigam. Their sacrifice and devotion to the homeland serve as a school of patriotism for future generations.”

“This Film Is a Symbol of a Son’s Love for His Homeland”

Later, Rana Ibrahimova, Head of the Projects Department of EL Television Company and one of the creators of the documentary, delivered a speech:

“Filming the life of Intigam Ismayilov was not merely a media project for us. This documentary is a recorded memory of a son’s love for his homeland and a brave man’s path to martyrdom for the sake of his country. During the filming process, feeling the emotions of his family and loved ones, and seeing both pride and sorrow in their eyes, increased our sense of responsibility toward this project.”

“The Legacy of Our Martyrs Is Always Honored at Our University”

Minaya Huseynova, Head of the Student Patriotic Development Center of the university, spoke about the patriotism-oriented initiatives implemented at the university:

“We regularly organize events, meetings, and film presentations to introduce students to the lives of our martyrs and to present their honorable struggle as an example for the younger generation. Every student should know that the freedom of this land and the liberty of this flag were achieved at the cost of the martyrs’ blood.”

“Telling Intigam’s Story Was a Great Responsibility”

The screenwriter and director of the documentary, Elgiz Mahmudov, spoke about the moral responsibility of bringing the martyr’s life to the screen:

“Intigam’s life is not only the story of a soldier, but also the story of a hero and an ideal. Meeting his childhood friends, family members, and fellow soldiers during the filming process was both emotionally difficult and deeply honorable. We tried to ensure that the audience would watch not just a film, but also a lesson in patriotism.”

Following the speeches, the documentary dedicated to the memory of martyr Intigam Ismayilov was screened. At the end of the film, the martyr’s parents, Ilgar and Ilhama Ismayilov, shared their memories of their son.

It should be noted that Intigam Ilgar oghlu Ismayilov was born on December 24, 1996, in Khanabad village of the Yevlakh district. He studied at the Khanabad village secondary school and practiced boxing. As a soldier of the Azerbaijani Army, he fought in the Patriotic War, which began on September 27, 2020, participating in battles in the directions of Murovdag, Khojavand, and Shusha. He was martyred on November 9, 2020, during the battles for Shusha and was buried in his native village.

After his death, Intigam Ismayilov was posthumously awarded the medals “For the Homeland,” “For the Liberation of Shusha,” “For the Liberation of Kalbajar,” and “For the Liberation of Khojavand,” as well as the 3rd Degree Order “For Service to the Homeland,” by decrees of Ilham Aliyev.

This event once again demonstrated that the memory of martyrs is always honored at Mingachevir State University, and their path of struggle is preserved as a model of patriotism for the younger generation.
