A new head has been elected to the Department of Economics at Mingachevir State University. According to the results of the voting held during the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Economics and Management of MSU on January 22, 2026, Zivar Zeynalova was elected as the Head of the Department of Economics.

Zivar Zeynalova completed her bachelor’s degree at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and her master’s degree at Azerbaijan State University of Economics. She obtained her PhD degree from the Türkiye and Middle East Public Administration Institute.

During her doctoral studies, she conducted comparative scientific research on fiscal policy and the social impacts of taxation not only in Türkiye but also at Carleton University. Her academic degree obtained in Türkiye was officially recognized through re-attestation and considered equivalent to a PhD degree in the specialty of “World Economy.” Currently, she continues her scientific research activities as a researcher in the Doctor of Sciences program in the field of “Economics of Technological Innovations.”

The scientific and pedagogical activities of Z. Zeynalova have been closely integrated with the international academic environment. She has participated in scientific research programs, international seminars, and professional development trainings conducted in Canada, Türkiye, Spain, China, and other countries, continuously improving her knowledge and skills in modern teaching methods and scientific approaches. The academic experience she gained abroad has created broad opportunities for applying innovative approaches in her scientific and pedagogical activities. She is the author of 4 teaching manuals, 4 collective monographs, and more than 100 scientific research works.
