On April 29, 2026, the regular meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Pedagogy at Mingachevir State University (MSU) was held. The meeting brought together the faculty leadership, department heads, academic staff, and responsible officials to discuss key issues related to the faculty’s academic, organizational, and methodological activities. Reports on the agenda items were presented and relevant decisions were adopted.
In accordance with the agenda, the current state of student attendance and the assessment of academic performance was discussed. It was emphasized that improving attendance rates, increasing student engagement in classes, and ensuring objective assessment are among the faculty’s main priorities. In this regard, the importance of enhancing attendance monitoring mechanisms, strengthening individual work with students, and maintaining transparency in the assessment process was highlighted.
Subsequently, the results of student feedback surveys were analyzed. The surveys covered students’ opinions on the teaching process, instructor performance, quality of course materials, and the overall academic environment. Alongside positive findings, areas requiring improvement were also identified. It was noted that such surveys play a crucial role in increasing student satisfaction and improving the quality of education.
Information was also presented on the activities of tutors. It was noted that tutors play a significant role in supporting students’ academic development, facilitating their adaptation to the learning process, and addressing social challenges. Proposals were put forward to enhance the effectiveness of this work, strengthen tutor–student interaction, and ensure a more systematic approach.
Monitoring the implementation of laboratory work and colloquia was another key issue discussed during the meeting. The importance of ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of laboratory sessions in line with the curriculum, conducting colloquia in accordance with academic standards, and developing students’ practical skills was emphasized. The need to further strengthen supervision in this area was highlighted.
The status of open classes was also reviewed. It was noted that open classes play an important role in applying modern teaching methods, enhancing the pedagogical skills of instructors, and promoting the exchange of experience. Such practices contribute significantly to both professional development and the overall improvement of teaching quality.
At the end of the meeting, an exchange of views was held on current issues, proposals were put forward to further improve the faculty’s activities, and relevant decisions were made. Members of the Academic Council emphasized the importance of continued joint efforts to achieve the set objectives.
