Sessions Aimed at Strengthening Academic Capacity for Faculty and Students Held at Mingachevir State University

Training sessions were held at Mingachevir State University under the organization of the International Language Center operating within the School of Lifelong Learning. The sessions focused on “Research and Publication Activity” for faculty members and “Opportunities in Education” for students. Associate Professor Jeyran Agayeva from the School of Education Management at ADA University delivered the sessions as the invited speaker.

The training titled “Research and Publication Activity,” organized for the academic staff, provided practical knowledge on modern research and publication standards to faculty members working in the fields of humanities and linguistics. Within the session, participants were introduced to research design, methods of collecting primary and secondary data, and the principles of writing the methodology section on a solid scientific basis. In addition, practical recommendations were provided on strategies for selecting international journals, using the Web of Science database to identify reputable scientific publications, and avoiding predatory publishing practices.

The session conducted for students on the topic “Opportunities in Education” focused on master’s degree prospects in Europe and the United States of America. Participants received systematic and practical information on criteria for selecting appropriate higher education institutions, preparing a strong Statement of Purpose, obtaining letters of recommendation, and identifying international scholarship opportunities.

The training sessions, which were met with great interest by participants, included active discussions and a Q&A segment.

It should be noted that such programs implemented at Mingachevir State University contribute to the promotion of quality and inclusive education, the strengthening of research and innovation capacity, and the expansion of international academic cooperation, in line with the key priorities of the sustainable development agenda.
