Competition Announcement for the Position of Head of the Department of Energy at Mingachevir State University

Mingachevir State University announces a competition for the position of Head of the Department of Energy. Candidates with professional qualifications relevant to the profile of the department, an academic degree and academic title, and at least 5 years of scientific-pedagogical experience may participate in the competition.

Job responsibilities:

  • To lead the members of the department in organizing and conducting lectures, laboratory classes, practical and seminar sessions, and other teaching activities across different forms of education;
  • To supervise final state attestation, professional internship in the relevant specialty, course papers and graduation projects, students’ independent work, examinations, and the organization of educational activities among students;
  • To distribute the teaching workload of the academic staff and organize its discussion and approval;
  • To approve the individual and calendar plans of the academic staff;
  • To lead the development of curricula for approved subjects and ensure their approval;
  • To ensure the preparation of textbooks, teaching-methodological materials, and teaching aids in accordance with these curricula;
  • To create conditions for academic staff and students to conduct scientific research in accordance with the approved plan, organize discussions of completed research works, and supervise the application of their results in industry.

Required knowledge:

The candidate must know:

  • The Laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Education” and “On Science”;
  • Decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan related to the fields of science and education;
  • Relevant decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
  • Relevant decisions, orders, and instructions of the central executive authority of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of education;
  • Requirements for training specialists with knowledge and skills in accordance with the needs of socio-economic development;
  • Approved state educational standards and programs for higher education;
  • Methods for bringing scientific research to the level of modern standards and organizing the application of research results in the teaching process and industry;
  • Higher education pedagogy and psychology, as well as the preparation of curricula and syllabi;
  • The content of programs for each taught subject, as well as the extracurricular work to be carried out by laboratory-technical staff and academic staff;
  • Issues related to supervising the scientific research activities of teachers and students;
  • The study and dissemination of best practices of educational institutions;
  • The use of technical teaching aids in the educational process;
  • Occupational safety, safety engineering, sanitary-hygienic, and fire safety norms and regulations.

Active engagement in scientific research, as well as the publication of articles in high-impact international and local scientific journals, will be considered an advantage.
