15 Students from Dokuz Eylül University Present at International Conference Hosted by Mingachevir State University

An international academic conference titled “Contemporary Issues in Language, Education, Research and Sustainability”, hosted by Mingachevir State University, drew particular attention for its strong participation by international students.

A group of 15 students majoring in English Language Teaching from Dokuz Eylül University, located in İzmir, Türkiye, actively took part in the conference. The students contributed not only as attendees but also as presenters, delivering research papers across various sessions. Their presentations addressed topical issues such as language instruction, modern pedagogical approaches, and the development of communicative competencies.

In addition, the students participated actively in the “International Scientific-Practical Forum on the Development of Student Pedagogical Practice”, a key component of the conference. The forum facilitated extensive discussions on the professional training of future teachers, innovative teaching methodologies, and the enhancement of practical teaching skills. This platform provided valuable opportunities for students to gain experience within an international academic environment and supported their professional growth.

The participation of international students in both the scientific sessions and the practice-oriented forum is regarded as a clear example of the practical implementation of internationalization, inclusivity, and sustainability principles in higher education. This approach aligns with the sustainable and responsible higher education model promoted by UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, contributing to the strengthening of academic mobility, knowledge exchange, and global collaboration.

The student group was supervised by Dr. Murat Ata and Umut Ceylan.

This initiative also contributes to further strengthening the existing academic partnership between Mingachevir State University and Dokuz Eylül University, expanding student exchange opportunities, and fostering joint scientific activities.

Overall, the active involvement of international students not only enriched the scientific content of the conference but also made a significant contribution to the development of a multicultural academic environment, the advancement of young professionals, and the promotion of sustainable education principles.
