A presentation on “Analysis of Social and Economic Inequalities and Strategies for Their Reduction” was held at Mingachevir State University

A presentation titled “Analysis of Social and Economic Inequalities and Strategies for Their Reduction” was held at Mingachevir State University with the organization of the Department of Economics in a hybrid format. Academic staff members and students of the university participated in the event.

The presentation was delivered by Aysu Ilyasova, who is studying at the University of Sydney in the Commonwealth of Australia. During the presentation, the concept of social and economic inequality, its impact on society, and the causes of its emergence were analyzed in detail. It was noted that social inequality is characterized by differences in people’s access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and social services. Economic inequality, on the other hand, is related to the unequal distribution of income and wealth within society.

The presentation also highlighted the main causes of social and economic inequality, including poverty, unemployment, limited access to education, regional development disparities, and insufficient social policies. It was emphasized that these factors have a negative impact on social stability, economic growth, and overall societal development.

At the same time, strategies that can be applied to reduce social and economic inequality were discussed. Among these strategies, particular emphasis was placed on expanding educational opportunities, strengthening social protection programs, increasing employment opportunities, ensuring balanced regional development, and implementing inclusive economic policies.

At the end of the event, participants’ questions were answered and discussions were held around the topic.

It should be noted that Mingachevir State University continues to organize such scientific and educational events aimed at studying socio-economic issues in an academic framework and sharing international academic experience.
