Academic Freedom Policy
Academic freedom is a fundamental principle at Mingachevir State University, ensuring that teaching, research, and scholarly discussions are conducted independently and freely. The University recognizes scientific creativity, diversity of thought, and critical thinking as core values of higher education.
This policy document defines the legal and ethical foundations of academic freedom at MSU, clearly outlines the rights and responsibilities of university members, and serves to protect a healthy and independent academic environment.
What is Academic Freedom?
Academic freedom is the right of faculty members, researchers, and students to:
- choose teaching programs and methods,
- freely determine research topics,
- publish and present results without censorship,
- participate freely in academic discussions.
This right is regulated by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the national higher education strategy.
