Our Graduates Who Rose to the Height of Martyrdom
Under the leadership of our Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and thanks to the heroism of the brave Azerbaijani Soldier, the historic Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War once again demonstrated to the whole world the strength, unity, and invincibility of the Azerbaijani people. By liberating our ancestral and native lands from occupation and putting an end to thirty years of longing for the homeland, our courageous officers and soldiers wrote glorious pages of our history at the cost of their lives and blood.
During this historic march to victory, 4 employees, more than 120 students, and graduates of Mingachevir State University (MSU) participated, and 5 graduates—Oruc Najafli, Kenan Abdullayev, Azami Huseynov, Faiq Hasanov, and Yusif Jafarov—rose to the вершина of martyrdom.
We take pride in our heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of our Motherland, and we always honor their cherished memory with deep respect and gratitude.
Oruc Najafli was born on October 6, 1989, in Tanrigulular village of Yevlakh district. After graduating from Secondary School No. 8 named after Nizami Ganjavi in Mingachevir, he received higher education in “Informatics and Computer Engineering” at Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute (now MSU) during 2007–2011.
During the Patriotic War, which began on September 27, 2020, O. Najafli took part in the battles for the liberation of Sugovushan and in the Tartar-Aghdara direction, and was martyred on November 6.
By the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, O. Najafli was awarded the “For the Motherland” medal.
Kenan Abdullayev was born on December 3, 1990, in Mingachevir. After graduating from Secondary School No. 16, he studied at the Faculty of Economics of Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute (now MSU) from 2011 to 2015.
During the Patriotic War, Lieutenant K. Abdullayev participated in the battles for the liberation of Sugovushan settlement of Tartar district and was martyred on October 16.
According to relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, K. Abdullayev was awarded the “For the Motherland” and “For Bravery” medals, as well as the 3rd-degree order “For Service to the Motherland.”
Azami Huseynov was born on August 29, 1992, in Mingachevir. After graduating from Secondary School No. 14, he studied at the Faculty of Energy at Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute (now MSU) from 2010 to 2014.
During the Patriotic War, A. Huseynov participated in the battles for the liberation of Sugovushan and was martyred on October 8.
According to relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, A. Huseynov was awarded the “For the Motherland,” “For the Liberation of Sugovushan,” and “Brave Warrior” medals, as well as the 3rd-degree order “For Service to the Motherland.”
Faiq Hasanov was born on July 28, 1990, in Baku. After graduating from Secondary School No. 189–190 in Sabail district, he studied at the Faculty of Economics at Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute (now MSU) from 2008 to 2012.
During the Patriotic War, Warrant Officer F. Hasanov participated in the battles for the liberation of Jabrayil and Fuzuli and was martyred on October 5.
According to relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, F. Hasanov was awarded the “For the Motherland,” “For the Liberation of Jabrayil,” and, by the relevant order of the Ministry of Defense, the “For Courage” medals.
Yusif Jafarov was born on April 25, 1996, in Shirvan. After graduating from Secondary School No. 2 in Shirvan, he studied at the Faculty of Economics of MSU from 2013 to 2017.
During the Patriotic War, Y. Jafarov participated in the battles for the liberation of Jabrayil, Zangilan, and Gubadli and was martyred on November 4.
According to relevant decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the “For the Motherland,” “For the Liberation of Jabrayil,” and “For the Liberation of Gubadli” medals.
Gorxmaz Isgandarov was born on October 23, 1999, in Taxta-Korpu settlement of Aghjabadi district. He was originally from Lachin district. He studied in the specialty “Organization and Management of Industry” at the Faculty of Economics and Management of MSU from 2017 to 2021.
He was martyred on September 12, 2022, while preventing large-scale provocations committed by the armed forces of Armenia.
