Akif Novruz oglu Hajiyev
Born on January 14, 1938. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at the Kirovabad State Pedagogical Institute named after H. Zardabi in 1960. He began his career as a mathematics teacher in Mingachevir and eventually rose to the position of director of Secondary School No. 3. From 1966 to 1982, he served as the director of the Mingachevir Base Polytechnic Technical School. From 1991, he worked as the director of the Mingachevir branch of the Azerbaijan Industrial University named after M. Azizbayov, and from 1993, as the vice-rector of the Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute. In 2015, he was appointed the first vice-rector of Mingachevir State University (MDU). He held the academic title of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and was an associate professor. After 2019, he worked in various positions at MDU, including Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and as an advisor. He had extensive experience in pedagogy and administration. He passed away on August 16, 2024.
Shahin Vagif oglu Bayramov
Born on July 4, 1979. He graduated from the Mingachevir City Specialized High School of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Humanities in 1996. In 2000, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in International Economic Relations from the Azerbaijan State Economic University, and in 2003, he received his master’s degree. In 2011, he defended his doctoral thesis in World Economics, earning a PhD in Economics.
From 2005 to 2016, he worked in various positions at the Economic University, including as Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Manager of the MBA Program, and Head of the Distance and Continuing Education Department. From 2012 to 2017, he served as Vice-Rector for International Relations and Programs. He participated in professional training programs at Pennsylvania State University and Cornell University under the U.S. Department of State’s “Fulbright” scholarship and the “Hubert H. Humphrey” Program. He also participated in the U.S. State Department’s “Young Teachers Development Program” in 2009.
From 2017 to 2019, he was Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Higher, and Secondary Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dated July 31, 2019, he was appointed rector of Mingachevir State University, a position he held until May 2024. On May 20, 2024, by another decree, he was appointed rector of Karabakh University. He has extensive experience in pedagogy and administration.
