Mingachevir State University has successfully concluded the “Eco-Production and Responsible Consumption Startup Competition,” an important event aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, innovative entrepreneurship, and unlocking the creative potential of young people.
Organized jointly by the Department of Energy and the Department of Physics and Ecology, the competition contributed significantly to strengthening the university’s scientific and innovation environment. The event served as an important platform for promoting green economy principles, developing environmentally friendly production models, and fostering a culture of responsible consumption.
During the event, speakers emphasized the importance of sustainable development approaches in the context of global challenges such as climate change, depletion of natural resources, and environmental pollution. It was noted that eco-production and responsible consumption are becoming key pillars of future economic models.
The main objective of the competition was to support innovative ideas of students and young researchers aimed at solving environmental problems, enhance their entrepreneurial skills, and contribute to the formation of a “green innovation” ecosystem at the university.
Within the framework of the competition, participants presented innovative business models promoting eco-production and responsible consumption to a jury panel. The projects covered a wide range of areas, including renewable energy-based production models, zero-waste technologies, eco-friendly packaging solutions, digital platforms encouraging responsible consumption, recycling and efficient resource management initiatives, as well as technological solutions aimed at reducing carbon footprint.
The projects were evaluated by the jury based on criteria such as environmental sustainability, innovation, and economic efficiency. The competition was held in an interactive format, where participants not only presented their ideas but also engaged in discussions with experts, answered questions, and exchanged views with other teams. This created valuable opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, and future collaboration.
The event was attended by representatives of the university administration, faculty members, experts in science and education, as well as representatives of non-governmental organizations and local industrial enterprises.
It should be noted that the “Eco-Production and Responsible Consumption Startup Competition” is not only a contest but also an important initiative for raising environmental awareness among youth and encouraging them to think in line with sustainable development principles. Mingachevir State University will continue to support such initiatives to foster students’ innovative potential, integrate research with entrepreneurship, and strengthen the green economy ecosystem in the region.
