A seminar titled “Awareness Trainings and Seminars on the Protection of Marine Ecosystems” was organized at Mingachevir State University in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was conducted by Shabnam Islamova, a lecturer of the Department of Natural Sciences. The main objective of the seminar was to increase students’ knowledge and awareness regarding the protection of marine ecosystems, preservation of biodiversity, and environmental protection.
During the seminar, detailed information was provided on marine pollution, the impact of climate change on aquatic ecosystems, as well as international practices and local initiatives in this field. It was emphasized that the protection of marine ecosystems is important not only from an environmental perspective but also from a socio-economic standpoint.
Students who participated in the event actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and exchanged views on practical approaches and individual contributions.
At the end of the seminar, participants were given recommendations that can be applied in daily life to protect the environment, and the importance of regularly organizing such awareness events was highlighted.
It should be noted that such initiatives play a significant role in promoting sustainable development goals and increasing environmental awareness at the university.
