Mingachevir State University Holds Next Meeting of the Scientific Council for the 2025/2026 Academic Year

On February 6, 2026, the next extended meeting of the Scientific Council of Mingachevir State University for the 2025/2026 academic year was held. Members of the university’s Scientific Council and heads of structural divisions participated in the meeting.

Opening the meeting with an introductory speech, Rector Anar Eminov provided the Council members with detailed information on the issues included in the agenda of the Scientific Council.

First on the agenda, a report on the final results of the autumn examination session of the 2025/2026 academic year was presented. The report covered the examination session outcomes, the current situation, and upcoming tasks. Following relevant proposals and recommendations by the members of the Scientific Council, the report was adopted.

Afterwards, a report on the activities carried out at MSU in the field of internship and career development was heard. The report included information and discussions regarding the organization of industrial and pedagogical internships for undergraduate and graduate students, the assignment of internship placements and supervisors, the expansion of career opportunities, and the measures implemented in this direction.

The meeting continued with the discussion of current issues. Within this framework, the report of the Appeals Commission was presented. The report provided statistical information on submitted appeals. At the same time, a decision was adopted to award a one-time rector’s scholarship of 500 AZN to students who scored 100 points in the autumn examination session of the 2025/2026 academic year, as well as to students who won competitions held within the framework of the Orhun Exchange Program.

In addition, the issue of establishing a Working Group aimed at expanding cooperation between Mingachevir State University and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and organizing student-teacher exchange programs was brought to the attention of the Scientific Council and approved.

During the meeting, the approval of the new composition of the Scientific-Methodological Council, several normative issues related to the examination and educational processes at bachelor’s and master’s degree levels, including mechanisms applied for examination rule violations, and the approval of subject programs for the master’s degree level were also discussed, and relevant decisions were adopted. The Scientific Council also adopted a decision that students removed from examinations at the bachelor’s degree level due to examination rule violations would not be allowed to participate in exams organized upon payment of 25% of the course credit value, and that the procedure for payment of academic debts by subgroups would be implemented.

At the end of the meeting, Rector Anar Eminov expressed his gratitude to the university’s academic and administrative staff for organizing the autumn semester examination session of the 2025/2026 academic year in an objective and transparent manner.
