Mingachevir State University Takes New Steps Contributing to Sustainable Energy Management

  • Post category:News

Mingachevir State University (MSU) continues to consistently implement measures aimed at increasing energy efficiency and developing a sustainable campus environment. As part of these efforts, the university has launched the next phase of expanding the number of sensor-based LED lighting systems in order to optimize energy consumption.

Within the framework of the ongoing works, modern sensor-based LED lighting systems are being installed in academic buildings, administrative blocks, corridors, and common-use areas across the university campus. Operating through motion-sensitive technology, these systems are activated only when needed, enabling more efficient use of electricity and minimizing energy loss.

The newly implemented lighting solution not only increases energy savings at the university but also plays an important role in reducing carbon emissions and strengthening environmental sustainability. At the same time, the long-lasting, safe, and environmentally friendly nature of LED technology contributes to the development of green management principles across the campus.

This initiative carried out at MSU forms part of the university’s institutional approach aligned with its “Green Campus” strategy, efficient resource management policy, and international sustainable development goals. The measures undertaken also contribute to strengthening the university’s performance indicators within the energy and climate change criteria of the international “UI GreenMetric World University Rankings” platform.

It should be noted that in recent years, projects implemented at Mingachevir State University in the areas of energy management, green infrastructure, alternative transportation opportunities, biodiversity protection, and environmental awareness have supported the university’s development as a sustainable and environmentally responsible higher education institution.
