An awareness-raising seminar on “The Composition of the Employed Population in Azerbaijan and Combating Informal Employment” was organized for students by the Practice and Career Department of Mingachevir State University.
During the seminar, Mirsahib Eminov, Head of the Analysis Division of the Analysis and Strategic Planning Department of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, delivered a presentation.
The main purpose of the seminar was to inform participants about the concept of informal employment, its legal and socio-economic consequences, as well as measures being taken to combat it. During the event, detailed information was provided on the importance of formalizing labor relations in accordance with the labor legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the risks that informal employment poses for individuals and society, and the state policies implemented to prevent such cases.
It was emphasized in the speeches that the formal implementation of labor activity and the legal registration of entrepreneurial activity in accordance with legislation are of great importance for protecting citizens’ social security rights, expanding future employment opportunities, and ensuring sustainable economic development.
The seminar was met with strong interest from participants, followed by an exchange of views on the topic, and participants’ questions were addressed.
Mingachevir State University plans to continue organizing such events regularly to raise students’ awareness of labor market issues, enhance their legal knowledge, and support their professional development.
