On April 28, 2026, a training session on “Intellectual Property and Inventorship” was held at Mingachevir State University, organized by the Scientific Research and Innovation Department and delivered by Associate Professor Almaz Aliyeva, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
The main purpose of the event was to provide participants with detailed information about the concept of intellectual property, legal protection mechanisms for creative ideas, and ways of transforming innovative approaches into economic value.
Within the framework of the training, a comprehensive presentation was delivered on the history of patents, stages of patent registration, the development of the patent system in Azerbaijan, the Eurasian patent system, and procedures for formalizing patent rights.
At the same time, the importance of patenting was particularly emphasized, highlighting that it creates commercial advantages for inventors, stimulates the development of new technologies, and enhances market competitiveness through legal protection. It was noted that the protection of intellectual property is an essential component of economic development and innovation-based entrepreneurship.
During the training, practical examples were used to explain how inventors can legally protect their ideas and products, particularly focusing on the main challenges encountered in preparing patent claims and the possible solutions to these issues.
At the end of the session, Associate Professor Almaz Aliyeva provided participants with detailed information about her patented invention titled “Automatic Control System for the Internal Pipe Coating Process” and answered questions related to the topic.
