Mingachevir State University has organized a series of events dedicated to young entrepreneurs and startup initiatives under the Lifelong Learning School, aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial environment and enhancing students’ innovative thinking and business development skills. The program was implemented through collaboration between the Department of Business and Management and the Student Affairs Office.
The initiative was led and coordinated by Elvin Muradzadə, Head of the Engineering Training and Certification Division at the Lifelong Learning School. Under his guidance, the events focused on identifying students’ entrepreneurial potential and systematically developing their startup ideas.
Within the framework of these activities, business plan competitions were organized, allowing students to transform their ideas into structured business projects. During this process, participants gained practical experience in key areas such as market research, financial planning, and defining strategic development directions.
Investor meetings were also arranged, providing participants with opportunities to present their startup ideas to real business representatives. These sessions offered valuable experience in assessing the investment potential of projects, receiving professional feedback, and adapting their ideas to market realities.
Mentorship programs formed a core component of the initiative. With guidance from experienced professionals, participants received support in establishing startups, selecting development strategies, managing risks, and creating sustainable business models. This stage was crucial in turning initial concepts into mature and practical projects.
As a result of these comprehensive activities, students’ entrepreneurial initiative significantly increased, and they were encouraged to develop innovative and sustainable business models. Additionally, the events contributed to strengthening university–industry linkages and integrating students with the real business environment.
Such initiatives play a key role in developing the startup ecosystem at the university, enhancing youth economic engagement, and preparing students to pursue their future careers with greater readiness.
