A training on “Gender Ethics and Equal Opportunities in the Workplace” was held at Mingachevir State University

An awareness-raising training on “Gender Ethics and Equal Opportunities in the Workplace” was organized at Mingachevir State University for university staff and students. Initiated by the Human Resources Department of MDU, the main purpose of the training was to strengthen awareness on gender ethics principles, ensuring equal opportunities, and fostering a healthy institutional environment within academic and workplace settings.

The event was moderated by Polad Atayev, a legal advisor at MDU. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the growing importance of ethical behavior standards and gender equality principles in modern labor relations. He noted that universities are not only institutions for acquiring knowledge and professional skills but also important social platforms where healthy relationships and a culture of mutual respect are formed.

In his speech, Polad Atayev highlighted that preventing gender-based discrimination in the academic environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all, and upholding ethical standards are key components of the university’s institutional development. It was noted that creating an inclusive and fair work environment positively impacts the professional performance of staff and contributes to strengthening a healthy social atmosphere within the university.

Following this, Arzu Allazova, a specialist from the Human Resources Department of MDU, delivered a presentation on the topic. The presentation covered the concept of gender ethics, key principles for ensuring equal opportunities in the workplace, mechanisms for preventing gender-based discrimination in academic environments, and relevant international practices.

Arzu Allazova emphasized that in modern organizations, gender equality is not only a legal matter but also a crucial factor for effective management and the development of a healthy work environment. She noted that the implementation of gender ethics principles in university settings contributes to strengthening values such as mutual respect, tolerance, and social responsibility among staff and students.

During the training, Gunel Najafova, a lecturer at MDU, also delivered a speech on the topic. She highlighted that ensuring gender equality in academic environments has a positive impact on the quality of education and the formation of a healthy university environment. In her remarks, she particularly emphasized the importance of increasing awareness of gender ethics among young people and noted that promoting equal opportunities in universities significantly contributes to shaping socially responsible and tolerant thinking among students.

The presentations also addressed the psychological and legal aspects of preventing gender-based violence and discrimination in academic environments, as well as practical steps that can be taken within universities to ensure equal opportunities.

At the end of the training, discussions were held with participants, and questions of interest were answered.

Such awareness-raising initiatives play a significant role in promoting ethical values within the university environment, strengthening a socially responsible approach, and fostering a fair and inclusive academic environment for all.
