A literary and artistic event titled “Novruz Tradition: The Green Breath of Spring” was held at Mingachevir State University

On March 17, 2026, a literary and artistic event titled “Novruz Tradition: The Green Breath of Spring” was held at Mingachevir State University. The event was attended by the Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Power, Ilham Ismayilov, heads of the city’s law enforcement agencies, representatives of the Mingachevir City Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party and municipal chairpersons, the Rector of MSU Anar Eminov, family members of Azerbaijan’s National Hero Natig Gasimov and martyrs, as well as the university’s academic and administrative staff, students, and master’s students.

The event was jointly organized by Mingachevir State University and Kanal S and ELTv television channels, and took place in the university’s main academic building.

Before the festive program, an exhibition of Novruz stands prepared by faculties and departments was held in the university courtyard. Decorated with national elements representing different regions of Azerbaijan, traditional cuisine samples, and folklore attributes, the stands showcased the country’s rich cultural heritage. These displays not only promoted national values but also conveyed cultural and ecological messages aligned with the principles of sustainable development, reflecting respect for nature and traditions.

In his opening speech, Ilham Ismayilov, Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Power, emphasized that Novruz is one of the most important holidays reflecting the national and spiritual values, unity, and solidarity of the Azerbaijani people. He congratulated the staff of Mingachevir State University on the occasion of Novruz and noted that such events play a significant role in preserving national heritage, fostering patriotism among youth, and contributing to the cultural development of society.

Rector of Mingachevir State University, Anar Eminov, stated in his speech that Novruz symbolizes the awakening of nature, renewal, and harmony between humans and nature. He noted that the theme “The Green Breath of Spring” is not coincidental, as it reflects the integration of national traditions with modern sustainable development ideas. Emphasizing that Novruz unites people around values such as unity, solidarity, and sharing, A. Eminov congratulated the university community and students on the holiday and wished them success.

The event continued with a concert program. The performances featured well-known singers presenting songs reflecting both patriotism and the joy and spirit of Novruz and spring. The music created a festive atmosphere for the participants and contributed to the promotion of national and cultural values.
