Mingachevir State University has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with “Azeraluminium” LLC, the region’s largest industrial production complex

In order to strengthen university–industry cooperation in the fields of education and industry, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Mingachevir State University (MSU) and the Ganja Production Complex of “Azeraluminium” Limited Liability Company. The Memorandum was signed by the Rector of MSU, Anar Eminov, and the Director of “Azeraluminium” LLC, Maksim Javadov.

Accordingly, on July 8, 2025, a delegation led by Rector Anar Eminov visited the Ganja Production Complex of “Azeraluminium” LLC.

During the visit, a roundtable meeting was held at the production complex, where university and company representatives exchanged views on future cooperation. At the meeting, the Director of the Ganja Production Complex of “Azeraluminium” LLC, Jamil Safarov, emphasized the importance of cooperation with MSU and noted that this partnership would play a significant role in training engineering specialists capable of meeting modern industrial requirements. He highlighted the enterprise’s need for qualified personnel, internship opportunities, and interest in participating in joint innovative projects.

Rector Anar Eminov stated that the university is committed to cooperating with labor market representatives, integrating into industry, and transitioning to an educational model focused on developing students’ practical skills. He emphasized that the partnership established with the industrial enterprise would create important opportunities in this regard. The Rector noted that the signed Memorandum is not merely a formal document, but also a roadmap for implementing real cooperation plans, and expressed his gratitude to Maksim Javadov and the entire staff for their support in establishing the partnership.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to ensure the synthesis of scientific knowledge and industrial experience in order to train professional personnel capable of contributing to the country’s industrial potential, promote innovation activities, and facilitate mutual resource exchange.

According to the Memorandum, the curricula and syllabi of MSU’s Industrial Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Occupational Safety Engineering, and Electric Power Engineering specialization programs will be improved. Students studying in these specialties will complete their industrial internships and practical training sessions at the Ganja Production Facility of “Azeraluminium” LLC. Master’s thesis topics will be dedicated to real industrial problems faced by the enterprise, and in addition to academic supervisors, a co-supervisor from the company will also be appointed. Graduates admitted to master’s programs in relevant fields with high academic results will be employed by the enterprise.

Within the framework of the partnership, the parties will implement activities in the fields of education and experience exchange, scientific research and innovation, human resource development, and social and public initiatives. This cooperation will contribute to synchronizing the university’s academic potential with industry, improving students’ knowledge and skills, and meeting the enterprise’s staffing needs more effectively.

During the visit, the delegation closely familiarized themselves with the enterprise’s material and technical base, modern production infrastructure, and training center.

It should be noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between MSU and “Azeraluminium” LLC serves as an important example in terms of strengthening the practice-oriented approach in the higher education system and establishing real connections with industry.
