From Conscious Consumption to a Green Future: Awareness Seminar for Youth

A seminar on “Sustainable Consumption and Green Campus” was delivered by Shabnam Islamova, a lecturer at the Department of Physics and Ecology of Mingachevir State University, for school students in the Oghuz region.

The main objective of the seminar was to raise awareness among young people about efficient resource use, waste reduction, and environmental responsibility. Within the framework of the event, participants were provided with detailed information on sustainable consumption habits that can be applied in their daily lives.

During the seminar, topics such as reducing the use of single-use products, promoting reuse and recycling, saving energy and water resources, and the key principles of a green campus approach were discussed. It was emphasized that developing environmentally responsible behavior from an early age lays the foundation for a more sustainable and responsible society in the future.

Conducted in an interactive format, the seminar was marked by active participation, with students asking questions and engaging in discussions.

It should be noted that such awareness-raising initiatives implemented by Mingachevir State University contribute to shaping ecological thinking among young people, promoting responsible attitudes towards society and the environment, and fostering sustainable values.
