Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the fields of science and education continues to expand rapidly. Another significant step in this direction was taken during the official visit of a delegation from Mingachevir State University (MDU) to Turkey.
On October 16, 2025, the Head of the Information Technologies Department at MDU, Aida Mustafayeva, and the Director of the Lifelong Learning Center, Azer Huseyn, visited Gazi University, one of the leading higher education institutions in Ankara.
The MDU delegation was received by the Vice-Rector of Gazi University, Professor Serhat Karyeyen.
During the meeting, the parties held detailed discussions on the implementation of a dual degree program in “Computer Engineering,” which is intended to strengthen mutual trust, enhance academic ties between the higher education systems of the two brotherly countries, and promote student mobility.
An agreement was reached on key aspects of the program planned at the undergraduate level, including the alignment of curricula and course syllabi, the establishment of a joint working group, and the implementation mechanisms of the dual degree program.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Faculty of Technology at Gazi University. During a meeting with Professor Musa Atar, detailed discussions were held on the dual degree program. The MDU representatives were also provided with comprehensive information about the faculty’s academic activities, fields of study, research laboratories, and industry collaboration practices.
The parties emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in conducting joint research in technology and engineering, organizing faculty and student exchanges, and implementing innovative projects in the future.
