Students of Mingachevir State University Conduct Ecological and Hydrological Research on the Kura River

Students majoring in Ecology at Mingachevir State University conducted field research in different parts of the city to study the ecological and hydrological indicators of the Kura River.

During the research, the students used modern PASCO measurement devices to measure the river’s flow velocity, depth, and water temperature. The measurements enabled a more accurate analysis of the hydraulic regime of the Kura River, the ecological characteristics of the aquatic environment, and the impact of climatic factors.

The fieldwork contributed to the application of students’ theoretical knowledge in a practical environment, the development of ecological monitoring skills, and the scientific assessment of water resources. The preliminary results obtained are of significant importance for studying the river’s ecosystem status, ensuring efficient management of water resources, and maintaining ecological balance.

Such research activities contribute to strengthening environmental awareness, applied research skills, and a sustainable development approach at Mingachevir State University. The university plans to further expand student-based research in the fields of water resource protection, environmental monitoring, and ecological safety in the future.
