On December 21, 2025, students of Mingachevir State University achieved successful results at the Mingachevir Weightlifting Championship held in the city of Mingachevir.

Students prepared under the organization of the Sports Club operating under the university’s Student Youth Organization participated in the championship. The preparation process for the competition was carried out under the guidance of Mehman Bakhishov, a lecturer at the Sports and Health Complex of MSU.

The students competed representing the name of Azerbaijan’s National Hero Natig Gasimov.

According to the final results of the championship, MSU students demonstrated high athletic preparation and professionalism by winning a total of 9 gold medals and 2 silver medals in various weight categories in weightlifting, pull-up bar, parallel bars, and crossfit competitions.

The students who successfully completed the championship were awarded medals and diplomas.

It should be noted that this achievement is a clear example of the attention given at Mingachevir State University to the development of sports, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among young people, and the active participation of students in competitions at the national level.
