On June 7, 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding on joint cooperation was signed between Mingachevir State University and the Azerbaijan Corporate Governance Association.
The Memorandum was signed by Natavan Namazova, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at Mingachevir State University, and Vafadar Babayev, Chairman of the Board of AKIAB.
The signed document envisages the expansion of mutual cooperation in the fields of higher education, corporate governance culture, business-education collaboration, the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and human capital development.
According to the Memorandum, the parties plan to organize joint trainings, seminars, and awareness-raising programs on corporate governance, business ethics, leadership, strategic management, project management, and organizational development. At the same time, increasing MDU students’ practical knowledge of the business world, the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and B2B and B2G cooperation mechanisms, as well as supporting the career opportunities of students and graduates, are among the key areas of cooperation.
Within the framework of the cooperation, it is planned to organize internships, mentoring programs, career days, office visits, and professional development activities between MDU and AKIAB’s partner companies. In addition, the cooperation will support the connection of student startups, innovation projects, and entrepreneurial initiatives with business representatives, strengthen university-industry collaboration, and promote the preparation of joint research, analytical materials, and recommendations.
This cooperation will contribute to the development of the regional business environment, the support of sustainable development and green economy initiatives, and the establishment of useful links between the academic environment and the business community in line with MDU’s strategic development goals.
