The 44-day Patriotic War (Karabakh War II)

The glorious victory in the Patriotic War of 2020, which began on September 27 and lasted 44 days, forms the glorious pages of the history of Azerbaijan.

Thanks to the leadership of our Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the heroism of the brave Azerbaijani soldier, the indestructible State, Army and people's unity, our struggle for the truth resulted in the restoration of historical justice and national pride.

At the cost of their lives and blood, the brave sons of the motherland liberated our ancient lands, which had been under occupation for 30 years, from the enemy and put an end to longing for their native land.

Our brave soldiers and officers, who rose to the heights of martyrdom for the sake of ensuring our territorial integrity, wrote a heroic Chronicle in the truest sense of the word with examples of bravery, dedication, courage and patriotism that they showed in battles.

During the Patriotic War, students, graduates and employees of Mingachevir State University (MSU) actively participated in battles on the front line, as well as in rare line in social and moral support measures, information warfare, and showed high solidarity.

4 employees of MSU, more than 120 students and graduates took part in the battles for ensuring the territorial integrity of our country, and 5 graduates rose to the apex of martyrdom. Our heroic students and graduates who performed their combat tasks with honor and showed courage and bravery were awarded medals by the Head of the country.

According to the relevant decisions of the Scientific Council, 15 thousand manats were transferred to The Armed Forces Assistance Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan and 10 thousand manats to the “YASHAT” Fund.

MSU was actively represented in the social support measures implemented in our country in connection with family members of the martyrs of the Patriotic War, participants of the war, their relatives and victims of the war.
