At the meeting of the Academic Council of Mingachevir State University held on March 5, 2026, a decision was adopted to establish the position of “Student-Rector” in order to develop student governance at the university and ensure more active student participation in university life.

During the meeting chaired by Rector Anar Eminov, the Regulation on the Student-Rector of Mingachevir State University was discussed and approved. It was noted that the new mechanism is of great importance in strengthening student participation at the university, ensuring that students’ ideas and initiatives are considered more effectively in the management process, and developing cooperation between students and university administration.

The “Student-Rector” institution aims to facilitate the communication of students’ proposals related to academic, social, and public life to the university administration, support student initiatives, and strengthen the integration of the student community into governance processes.

It should be noted that the establishment of the “Student-Rector” position will contribute to the development of a student-centered governance model at Mingachevir State University, enable students to play a more active role in the university’s strategic and social life, and support the development of leadership skills among young people.
