On February 2, 2026, on the occasion of Azerbaijani Youth Day, a sports and solidarity-themed event was organized at the Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center with the initiative of the Department for Student Affairs and Event Organization of Mingachevir State University and the support of the Trade Union Committee.

As part of the event, a breakfast gathering was organized for university staff members. During the warm and friendly meeting, Natavan Namazova, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of the university, delivered the congratulatory message of Rector Anar Eminov addressed to the staff on the occasion of February 2 – Azerbaijani Youth Day and particularly emphasized the role of young people in the country’s public, scientific, and social life.

During the meeting, gifts were presented by the MSU Trade Union Committee to a group of young staff members distinguished by their active participation in the university’s social life.

The event then continued in the sports hall of the Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center. A volleyball tournament was held among teams formed by previously registered university employees. Following intense and exciting competition, the “Birlik” team won first place, the “Shimshek” team took second place, and the “Marvel” team secured third place.

The winning teams were awarded diplomas and trophies.

It should be noted that the main purpose of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people and university staff, strengthen team spirit, and celebrate Azerbaijani Youth Day in a memorable manner.
