Mingachevir State University organized another awareness-raising training aimed at enhancing the scientific potential of young researchers and aligning master’s theses with modern academic standards. The training, intended for master’s students of the Department of Energy Engineering, was dedicated to the topic “Preparation of Master’s Theses in the Field of Energy Studies and Scientific Research Methodology.”

The central focus of the training was the implementation of the “dual scientific supervision” model and its role in the development of young researchers. The primary goal of this approach is to ensure that practical and applied research conducted by master’s students is systematically developed to the level of fundamental scientific work. Through this model, students not only master academic theories but also integrate industrial experience into their research, enabling them to achieve more competitive scientific results.

During the training, Associate Professor of the Department of Energy Engineering Kamala Ayyubova and PhD in Technical Sciences Liliya Suleymanova delivered presentations on the structural components of thesis writing, identifying scientific novelty, and the proper use of literature available in international databases. The speakers emphasized that this approach would enable young researchers to synthesize academic and practical knowledge and present their research at a high level on both local and international professional scientific platforms.

The second part of the training continued in an interactive question-and-answer format. Master’s students raised questions regarding the selection of research topics, the reflection of innovative solutions in the energy sector within scientific studies, and methods of data analysis.

Such trainings are an important component of MSU’s strategy to ensure the integration of scientific activity with education and to contribute to the preparation of highly qualified specialists in the field of energy.
