On March 19, 2026, a citywide event dedicated to the Novruz holiday was held in Mingachevir, organized by the Mingachevir City Executive Authority. The staff, students, and master’s students of Mingachevir State University actively participated in the celebration.

The festive event took place at Samad Vurgun Square. Among the participants were the Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Authority Ilham Ismayilov, the Rector of Mingachevir State University Anar Eminov, representatives of the city Municipality and the New Azerbaijan Party’s local organization, law enforcement authorities, teachers and pupils of higher and general education institutions, students, and members of the public.

Within the framework of the event, Ilham Ismayilov and Member of Parliament Aydin Mirzazada delivered speeches, congratulating participants on the occasion of Novruz and emphasizing the importance of preserving national and spiritual values, as well as strengthening social unity.

As part of the festive program, thematic corners allocated to Mingachevir State University and other educational institutions were showcased, richly decorated with national ornaments and Novruz attributes. These corners featured national traditions, examples of folk art, and students’ handmade works, adding a unique cultural atmosphere to the event.

In the artistic segment of the celebration, performances by well-known singers were presented, while athletes demonstrated engaging performances in various sports. Additionally, dance performances by school pupils and university students further enriched the festive spirit.

It should be noted that such events play a significant role in preserving national and cultural heritage, fostering patriotism among youth, and strengthening social cohesion. The active participation of Mingachevir State University in such initiatives contributes to the formation of an inclusive and value-based society in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
