Faculty of Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1991 under the 274th decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 23, 1991, when the Mingachevir branch of M. Azizbeyov Azerbaijan Industrial University (now Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University) was created. Initially, it operated as the “Energy” faculty. In 1994, its name was changed to “Energy and Mechanics,” and in September 2016, the faculty was restructured and renamed the Faculty of Engineering.

The Faculty of Engineering is the teaching, scientific, and administrative division of Mingachevir State University, and its activities are conducted in accordance with the “Law on Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the “Sample Statute of Higher Education Institutions” approved by the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision No. 9 on January 21, 2011, the “Regulations on Organizing the Credit System in Higher Education Institutions’ Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs and Basic Medical Education” approved by the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision No. 348 on December 24, 2013, and the “Regulations on Faculties of Higher Education Institutions” approved by the Minister of Education’s decree No. 793 on November 10, 1997.

About the Academic Council of a Faculty

The Scientific Council of the Faculty is the highest governing body of the faculty, consisting of 15 members. According to the “Regulation on the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Higher Education Institutions” approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 10, 1997, 8 members are appointed based on their positions, and 7 members are elected by secret ballot.

Faculty structure

Over the years, the Faculty has had several departments, producing highly qualified engineering specialists in various fields. Currently, the following four specialized departments are active under the Faculty:
