A scientific conference titled “Peace and Multicultural Values” was held at the Mingachevir Youth House. The event was organized by the Department of Humanities of Mingachevir State University and attracted great interest from academic staff, lecturers, and young researchers.
The main purpose of the conference was to discuss, from a scientific perspective, the preservation of peace in the modern era, the promotion of multicultural values, the strengthening of tolerance, and the role of these factors in the sustainable development of society.
The conference was opened with an introductory speech by the Head of the Department of Humanities, Esmira Jafarova, who spoke about the significance of the event and emphasized the importance of preserving peace and multicultural values in the contemporary world. She noted that in an increasingly globalized world, protecting cultural diversity, promoting tolerance, and strengthening an atmosphere of peace are among the key priorities.
Following the opening speech, a thematic video presentation was shown, visually presenting the essence of peace and multiculturalism ideas to the participants.
Within the framework of the conference, presentations covering a variety of relevant and interesting topics were delivered. Ilham Mammadov presented on “The Philosophical Essence of the Concept of Peace and Its Modern Interpretations,” analyzing the historical and philosophical foundations of the concept of peace and noting that it has gained new meaning in the modern era.
Nizami Zeynalov, in his presentation titled “Azerbaijan’s Peace Policy and Regional Cooperation Initiatives,” highlighted Azerbaijan’s policy aimed at ensuring regional stability and its role within international cooperation platforms.
Shalala Guliyeva delivered a presentation on “The Role of Multicultural Values in Peacebuilding,” emphasizing that multiculturalism is an important factor in ensuring peace and underlining the importance of mutual respect among different cultures.
In her report titled “Multicultural Traditions and Historical Roots in Azerbaijan,” Gulay Baghirova spoke about the historically established atmosphere of tolerance in Azerbaijan and noted that multicultural values are an inseparable part of national identity.
Zaka Abilbeyli, in his speech “Tolerance and Social Harmony: Their Role in Social Stability,” stressed the important role of tolerance in ensuring social stability.
Following the presentations, extensive discussions were held. Participants expressed various opinions on the topic, questions were answered, and scientific exchange took place.
At the conclusion of the conference, it was emphasized that preserving peace, developing multicultural values, and promoting tolerance are among the essential conditions for the sustainable development of modern society. Participants also highlighted the importance of continuing scientific research and awareness-raising activities in this direction.
