University and Industry on the Path of Joint Development: Mingachevir State University Launches Cooperation with Baku Textile Factory

On March 11, 2026, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Mingachevir State University (MSU) and the Baku Textile Factory. The document envisages the establishment and development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the university and the industrial enterprise in the fields of education, science, innovation, and production.

On the occasion of the signing of the memorandum, a delegation led by Natavan Namazova, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Affairs of MSU, visited the Baku Textile Factory. During the meeting, views were exchanged on expanding university–industry cooperation, strengthening the training of qualified specialists in line with modern production requirements, and developing applied scientific research activities.

In her speech, Vice-Rector Natavan Namazova emphasized the importance of cooperation between higher education institutions and the industrial sector. She noted that such partnerships play a significant role in improving students’ practical knowledge and skills, preparing them for the labor market, and ensuring the application of scientific results in real production processes. The Vice-Rector also stated that Mingachevir State University attaches particular importance to integrating education, research, and innovation by expanding cooperation with industrial enterprises.

Speaking at the meeting, Sakina Babayeva, founder of the Baku Textile Factory, highlighted the importance of cooperation with the university for the development of the textile industry and the training of qualified specialists. She noted that collaboration with higher education institutions not only introduces new knowledge and innovative approaches to industrial enterprises but also provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with the real production environment.

According to the memorandum, the parties will cooperate in areas such as education and personnel training, scientific research and innovation activities, organization of industrial internships, and implementation of joint projects. Within the framework of the document, it is planned to organize industrial and summer internships for university students at the factory, arrange seminars and master classes by factory specialists at MSU, implement joint research projects in textile technologies, and support initiatives aimed at developing innovative textile products.

The parties also agreed to organize industrial excursions for students to enhance their practical knowledge, conduct professional development and training programs for factory employees, and jointly organize conferences, seminars, and forums.

Following the official part of the event, the MSU delegation toured the production facilities of the Baku Textile Factory. The guests became closely acquainted with the modern technological processes applied at the enterprise, the stages of production, and the product manufacturing process. During the meeting, prospects for developing practical cooperation between the university and the industrial sector were also discussed.

It should be noted that the signed memorandum creates a legal and organizational framework for future cooperation between the parties, contributing to the strengthening of the integration of education and production, the training of qualified specialists for the textile industry, and the expansion of applied scientific research activities.
