A cooperation workshop on urban mobility was held for students of Mingachevir State University at Mingachevir Municipality

On December 18, 2025, a workshop titled “Cooperation with the Municipality on the Efficiency of Urban Transport” was held at the Mingachevir Municipality, organized by the Department of Mechanics of Mingachevir State University. The aim of the event was to discuss the current state of urban transportation, analyze mobility-related challenges through scientific approaches, and identify possible solutions within the framework of university–municipality cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Head of the Department of Mechanics at MSU, Mahir Ismayilov, emphasized the importance of scientific approaches and innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of the urban transportation system. He noted that cooperation between higher education institutions and local governance structures can significantly contribute to achieving effective outcomes in the fields of urban infrastructure and transport planning.

Qaragöz Karimov, lecturer at the Department of Mechanics, delivered a presentation on the current state of urban transportation, existing mobility challenges, and possible technical and engineering solutions that could be implemented in this area.

Zahid Gasimli, Head of the Social and Economic Development Department of Mingachevir Municipality, informed participants about the ongoing efforts to address the city’s transportation issues, planned mobility projects, and the municipality’s future development priorities. He also highlighted that cooperation with Mingachevir State University could make a significant contribution to the city’s transport and urban development strategies.

During the workshop, participants’ questions were addressed, and various suggestions and recommendations regarding the more efficient organization of urban transportation were discussed. The event was considered a useful platform for strengthening cooperation between the university and local governance institutions, as well as for engaging students in solving real urban challenges.

It should be noted that promoting scientific and practical initiatives in the fields of urban planning, transportation, and sustainable development is one of the key directions of Mingachevir State University’s regional development strategy. Such events play an important role in enabling students to work on real urban challenges and in expanding university–community cooperation.
