Within the framework of activities carried out under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the Department of Economics of Mingachevir State University (MDU), an awareness campaign titled “Preventing Food Waste in Food Consumption” was organized at the Mingachevir ASAN Service Center.
During the event, Lala Isazade, Senior Advisor of the Registration and Work with Entrepreneurs Sector of the Central Aran Regional Division of the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a presentation and provided participants with comprehensive information about the efficient use of food products, ways to reduce food loss and waste, food safety regulations, and the importance of awareness-raising activities in this field.
During the presentation, attention was drawn to the negative impacts of food waste from both economic and environmental perspectives. It was noted that the responsible and efficient use of food resources plays a crucial role in conserving resources, protecting the environment, and ensuring sustainable development.
At the same time, the importance of promoting food safety and sustainable consumption habits in line with the Sustainable Development Goals was emphasized, highlighting the significance of awareness initiatives in this direction.
At the end of the event, participants’ questions were answered and an extensive exchange of views on the topic was held.
