“Science, education, and industry must work together.” Speaking at the conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) on November 3, 2025, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that “today, science and industry, education and production must be integrated, and the research conducted by scientists should serve the development of the real economy and the future of the country.” The Head of State called on government institutions, universities, and the scientific community to cooperate closely in this direction and to ensure the active application of scientific achievements in industrial projects, technological development, and production sectors.
In line with the ongoing cooperation between Mingachevir State University (MSU) and “Azerbaijan Thermal Power Plant” LLC, and with the aim of strengthening practice-oriented teaching, a number of practical courses within the specialties of Power Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering are conducted at the station’s Training Center.
Accordingly, on November 28, 2025, an open class for the Enm24 (Energy Engineering) and Eem22 (Electrical Power Engineering) groups was organized at the station’s Training Center. The classes were conducted by Gadir Mammadli, a young lecturer of MSU’s Department of Power Engineering and at the same time an employee of the station.
During the lesson, he presented students with practical examples demonstrating the application of theoretical knowledge in a real industrial environment, paying particular attention to strengthening their professional training and technical competencies.
The open class held in the industrial environment was also attended by station employees and members of MSU’s academic staff. The presentations prepared by the students were received with great interest. It was noted that the students significantly improved their understanding of the production process, the operating principles of energy equipment, and real operational conditions.
This cooperation established between Mingachevir State University and “Azerbaijan Thermal Power Plant” LLC makes an important contribution to the development of students’ practical skills and to the further strengthening of university–industry relations.
