An awareness-raising seminar on “Protection of Marine Ecosystems and Conservation of Biodiversity” was conducted for school students by Gülgün Israfilova, a lecturer at the Department of Physics and Ecology of Mingachevir State University.

The main objective of the seminar was to increase students’ knowledge about marine ecosystems, highlight the importance of biodiversity conservation, and foster a responsible attitude towards the environment.

During the event, Gülgün Israfilova provided detailed information on marine pollution, the impact of climate change on aquatic ecosystems, as well as international practices and local initiatives in this field. It was emphasized that the protection of marine ecosystems is of great importance not only from an environmental perspective but also from a socio-economic standpoint.

The seminar included interactive discussions with school students, where their questions were answered and explanations were supported with practical examples.

It should be noted that Mingachevir State University regularly organizes such awareness-raising activities aimed at enhancing environmental education among youth, promoting biodiversity conservation, and supporting sustainable development principles.
