On December 6, 2025, within the framework of the 3rd International Conference on “Sustainable Development Strategy” held at Mingachevir State University (MSU), a Strategic Cooperation Memorandum was signed between MSU and Azerbaijan Technical University on the establishment and joint utilization of an Electric Power Engineering Research Cluster.

The Memorandum was signed by the Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, and the Rector of Mingachevir State University, Anar Eminov.

The agreement envisages the expansion of advanced research in electric power engineering, the application of innovative technologies, and the implementation of joint scientific projects in such priority areas as renewable energy systems and smart grid technologies. It also provides for the active involvement of master’s and doctoral students in research activities.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, Mingachevir State University will contribute to the development of the Cluster through its integration with the energy infrastructure of Mingachevir, while Azerbaijan Technical University will support its activities by leveraging the industrial and scientific potential of Baku and other key regions of the country.

The parties also expressed their intention to jointly participate in projects within the “Green Energy Zone” initiative covering Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur.

The Memorandum is aimed at further strengthening scientific cooperation between the two universities, enhancing innovation capacity, and advancing applied research in the field of energy.
