Training on “Bioenergy and Waste-to-Energy Production Technologies” Held for Students of Mingachevir State University

On February 21, 2026, a training session titled “Bioenergy and Waste-to-Energy Production Technologies” was held at the Mingachevir Hydroelectric Power Station through the joint organization of the Departments of Energy Engineering and Mechanics of Mingachevir State University. University students and employees of the power station participated in the training.

The purpose of the event was to inform participants about renewable energy sources, waste recycling technologies, and modern approaches applied in the field of bioenergy, as well as to familiarize them with the technological and economic aspects of energy production processes.

During the training, Mahir Ismayilov, Head of the Department of Mechanics at the university, provided extensive information on waste recycling technologies, renewable energy sources, and the operating principles of bioenergy facilities. He also gave detailed explanations about the stages of bioenergy production, energy generation processes, and the transmission of energy to consumers.

In his speech, Mahir Ismayilov also highlighted the importance of the Mingachevir Hydroelectric Power Station within the country’s energy system, emphasizing that the electricity generated there is more cost-effective in terms of production expenses.

It should be noted that such practical trainings organized at Mingachevir State University in the fields of renewable energy, sustainable development, and environmental technologies are of great importance for improving students’ professional knowledge and skills, familiarizing them with the industrial environment, and strengthening university–industry cooperation.
