The Azerbaijan Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship was held with joint organization by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Powerlifting Federation. Representatives of Mingachevir State University (MSU) achieved successful results at the championship.

MSU coach-instructor Mehman Bakhishov and students Vaqif Ahmadli and Shamil Dashdemirov took part in the competition and demonstrated high athletic performance. According to the competition results, coach-instructor Mehman Bakhishov won 1st place in the Masters category; student Vaqif Ahmadli won 1st place among youth; and Shamil Dashdemirov was awarded 3rd place. The successful MSU representatives were presented with medals and diplomas by the organizers of the championship.

The achievements were also highly appreciated at Mingachevir State University. At the regular meeting of the MSU Scientific Council held on December 18, 2025, coach-instructor Mehman Bakhishov was awarded in accordance with the Council’s decision. The students who achieved success in the championship were also rewarded by the University Trade Union Committee, which particularly noted their accomplishments in sports.

In addition, Nazperi Jabbarova, a first-year student of Mingachevir State University majoring in Social Work, became the champion of the Azerbaijan Kickboxing Championship. Her achievement was also highly valued by the university leadership, and Nazperi Jabbarova was awarded by the MSU Trade Union Committee.

It should be noted that Mingachevir State University regularly implements initiatives to support students’ sports activities, promote a healthy lifestyle, and ensure the university is successfully represented nationwide in various sports. These results are a clear indicator of the athletic potential of MSU students and faculty, as well as the healthy sporting environment established at the university.
