From Coastal Zones to Sustainable Futures: Interactive Training with Practical Approaches

A training session on “Sustainable Planning of Coastal Zones” was delivered by Shabnam Islamova, a lecturer at the Department of Physics and Ecology of Mingachevir State University, for college students in Uzbekistan.

The main objective of the training was to promote environmentally responsible management of coastal areas, efficient use of resources, and the adoption of sustainable planning approaches among young people. Within the framework of the session, participants were provided with detailed information on modern approaches to coastal zone management, risk reduction, and ecosystem protection.

Conducted in an interactive format, the training included group assignments where students worked collaboratively to develop planning models based on real-life scenarios. Topics such as urbanization in coastal areas, climate impacts, erosion risks, and maintaining ecological balance were discussed in a practical context.

The training was marked by active participation, enabling students to exchange ideas and apply their knowledge in practice.

It should be noted that such initiatives carried out by Mingachevir State University, aimed at international knowledge and experience exchange, contribute to developing young people’s skills in addressing global environmental challenges, fostering practical thinking, and promoting the principles of sustainable development.
